Who Am I?

Truth be told, I’m a lot of things.  I’m an entrepreneur.  I am a freelance bookkeeper.  I’m a certified Quickbooks professional.  Occasionally I write poetry (occasionally), although I haven’t in a while.  I’m also an online marketer.

At the end of the day, those are things I do.  Who I am, truth be told, I’m just a church boy.  I love my family.  I love my friends.  I love and serve a Mighty God!  And, even though I don’t show the “kinder” side of me nearly enough, I love to help people.

What Is My Educational Background?

I have a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences with an emphasis in Applied Analysis from Clemson University.  Yes, that is a mouthful and yes, I am a proud Clemson Tiger!  I also have a M.S. in Accounting.  So, I’m highly analytical (and unfortunately in some people’s opinion) very literal.

Where Am I From?

I like to tell people, “everywhere and nowhere.”  My father was in the military when I was born.  So I moved around a lot.  At one point I can remember being in different schools 6 years in a row!  So, I know what it is like to feel displaced.  I didn’t feel like I had a place to say, “I’m from….” until my late 20’s or early 30’s.

Why Am I Here?

Short answer, to help.  To help others run their businesses a little bit easier.  To help myself find my way in this life.  I’ve seen a LOT of things during my time as a bookkeeper.  There always comes a point in the year when things just get “tight” for a lot of people. As a bookkeeper, it is my job to enable my clients to get a clear look at their financial positions.  I look for ways to help them save a little here or there, and increase their overall profit margin.

I also do it to help them be prepared for the inevitable occurrences in life.  It may be an unexpected illness or emergency repair.  Maybe it’s an increase in their kid’s tuition.  Whatever the case may be, I try to help them be prepared.

So…..

Anyway, this will be a place for me to “unwind” and show the world the better side of me!  As I said earlier, I’ve seen a lot of things during my time as a bookkeeper.  I’d like to think I have a little knowledge that may help someone else.  Since I want to help people, why not help people run their own businesses and start to live life on their own terms?
