Why do I do this?

Why I Do What I Do….

My name is Andre Morgan.  This is my site. People close to me have asked me what my purpose for this blog is going to be.  Well, to tell them, and you, why I do what I do, you need to know a bit more about me.

I was born into a military family.  My father spent 20+ years in the U.S. Air Force.  We moved all over the south eastern United States from Florida, to Georgia, to Texas, and South Carolina.  This list includes multiple stops in each state and doesn’t include the time my father spent over seas.

We finally settled in South Carolina where I graduated from high school.  I eventually went on to graduate from Clemson University in 2002. I immediately moved back home to work in my family’s bookkeeping and tax service.  My main duties included bookkeeping services, payroll services, sales tax preparation, and business incorporation services.  My specialty was helping people set up LLC’s.

Now, my major was in Mathematical Sciences.  So, my new job really had nothing to do with what I studied; but I did it to help my family.  At the time, my younger brothers and sisters were aged 7 – 15 and I wanted to stay closer to home to help raise them and be there for them.  It wasn’t always easy.  It didn’t always seem “worth” the effort, but family is the most important thing to me and I don’t regret it one bit.

Things started out pretty slow, but I stuck with it.  Eventually, I “quit” my job with my parents, and became a freelance bookkeeper.  This would allow me to still work with my family, stay close to home, and get more business helping smaller businesses.  I became a Certified Professional with Quickbooks products by Intuit and started a mobile bookkeeping service.  I would (and still do) travel to my clients’ location and take care of their bookkeeping needs on site.

I grew the business year by year.  By 2014, I was making as much as $2500 a week.  I know that isn’t a huge number in the grand scheme of things, but it was great to me!  Rent was low.  My utilities were lower.  Gas was high but not more than I could handle.

In July of 2014, I hurt my elbow.  Working was harder, but still doable.  Then in August, I had an acute hernia.  I had to have immediate surgery.  I wasn’t able to get around on my own for a month, let alone drive to my clients.  It caused some hardship, but I pushed through.

In October of 2015, the state of South Carolina experienced record flooding.  A large portion of my clients ended up closing their businesses as a result.  A year later, Hurricane Matthew affected the state again.  Half of the clients I had left ended up closing their doors as a result.

I was scrambling to make ends meet.  My income went from $1,000 – $2,500 a week to just over $1,500 a month.  That’s just not enough to cut it.  I was luckier than most.  I had some savings to live off of, but even that would run out soon enough.  In no way am I blaming a few events for the position I ended up in.  I take full responsibility for not being in position to better cope.

BUT, I was determined not to let it happen again…. Not to me, or anyone I cared for.  So, I started researching different opportunities to earn money from home.  I had tried a few affiliate programs in the past, but nothing that worked out for me.  But I was even more determined this time around.  I started working with a few mentors to mixed results.  I was able to learn something from each of them.  They either gave me new knowledge or showed me what to do and what not to do (even though the latter was probably unintentional).

That brings me to today… August 2017.  I have found a few programs that work; some better than others.  I’m here to help others succeed by providing motivation, as well as knowledge on what has and hasn’t worked for me. I will be updating this blog regularly with news, results, proofs, and reviews of the programs I’m involved with.  Check back often to see what’s new!

Be sure to check out the programs listed and contact me any time if you are interested in getting started or getting more information.
